Numbers 32:33-42

New International Version

³³Then Moses gave to the Gadites,^(A) the Reubenites and the half-tribe of Manasseh^(B) son of Joseph the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites^(C) and the kingdom of Og king of Bashan^(D)—the whole land with its cities and the territory around them.^(E)

³⁴The Gadites built up Dibon, Ataroth, Aroer,^(F) ³⁵Atroth Shophan, Jazer,^(G) Jogbehah,^(H) ³⁶Beth Nimrah^(I) and Beth Haran as fortified cities, and built pens for their flocks.^(J) ³⁷And the Reubenites rebuilt Heshbon,^(K) Elealeh^(L) and Kiriathaim,^(M) ³⁸as well as Nebo^(N) and Baal Meon (these names were changed) and Sibmah.^(O) They gave names to the cities they rebuilt.

³⁹The descendants of Makir^(P) son of Manasseh went to Gilead,^(Q) captured it and drove out the Amorites^(R) who were there. ⁴⁰So Moses gave Gilead to the Makirites,^(S) the descendants of Manasseh, and they settled there. ⁴¹Jair,^(T) a descendant of Manasseh, captured their settlements and called them Havvoth Jair.^[a]^(U) ⁴²And Nobah captured Kenath^(V) and its surrounding settlements and called it Nobah^(W) after himself.^(X)

¹⁵This is what Moses had given to the tribe of Reuben, according to its clans:

¹⁶The territory from Aroer^(A) on the rim of the Arnon Gorge, and from the town in the middle of the gorge, and the whole plateau past Medeba^(B) ¹⁷to Heshbon and all its towns on the plateau,^(C) including Dibon,^(D) Bamoth Baal,^(E) Beth Baal Meon,^(F) ¹⁸Jahaz,^(G) Kedemoth,^(H) Mephaath,^(I) ¹⁹Kiriathaim,^(J) Sibmah,^(K) Zereth Shahar on the hill in the valley, ²⁰Beth Peor,^(L) the slopes of Pisgah, and Beth Jeshimoth— ²¹all the towns on the plateau^(M) and the entire realm of Sihon king of the Amorites, who ruled at Heshbon. Moses had defeated him and the Midianite chiefs,^(N) Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur and Reba^(O)—princes allied with Sihon—who lived in that country.
